Community Kitchen
This program provides a noon meal Monday – Friday.

Emergency Care and Food Pantry
This program provides utility, rent assistance and food boxes for persons and families in emergency situations as well as Christmas assistance.

Joe Rush Program
This program provides an exterior house painting job for low-income, elderly, and disabled persons.
Number of homes painted: 35
Homeowners average monthly income: $1,678.00
Children and Youth Program
This program provides a year-round program for children and youth in grades three through eight with an after-school program, a Summer Day Camp, and enrichment activities throughout the year.

Prison Ministry
This program provides two Kairos weekends per year, weekly visits, counseling, and classes at Donaldson Correctional Facility. We also provide end of life pastoral care to men on death row who are facing execution.

Volunteer Program
This program provides opportunities for volunteers from the Birmingham , Alabama and several other states to serve others through the various programs of Urban Ministry.

Community Church Without Walls
Urban Ministry provides office, worship, study, and recreational space for this United Methodist new church start.

West End Community Garden (WE Community Garden )
This program provides a community garden for the people of the West End Community which includes gardening opportunities plus nutrition and gardening classes.

Beeson Senior Services
The purpose of the program is to provide case management services to the “needy elderly” (60 and older) who live in Jefferson County .
