Lane Wooley, Chairperson is the Associate Managing Director at Oakworth Capital Bank and is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood. He has been a board member for seven years and is instrumental in the financial affairs of Urban Ministry.
Lynn Douglas, Vice-Chairperson is retired from the Birmingham City School system. She is a member of Arise Citizens' Policy Project, St. Paul UMC in downtown Birmingham, and Church Women United. She serves as the Chairperson to the Nominating Committee.
Cam Bullock, Secretary is a homemaker and retired educator. She is a member of the Junior League, Arise Citizens' Policy Project, and Canterbury United Methodist Church.

Doug Adamson works in sales for IBM. He is a past Chairperson of the Board and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Development Committee.
Tony Ballard is a new member of the Board, having been elected in 2011. He is a retired Vestavia Hills High School teacher and is an active member at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and the Vestavia Hills Rotary Club.
Kathy Boswell is the Director of Community Relations for Baptist Health System. In her prior office at Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Kathy was supportive in establishing WE Community Gardens. She serves on the WE Gardens advisory board and is a member of the Junior League of Birmingham. Kathy is also a seminary student and a physical fitness instructor.
Bettina Byrd-Giles is the owner of The Byrd’s Nest LLC, an intercultural education consulting firm. She previously served as Director of the Crossroads Community Center at the University of Alabama and was the program director at the office of Cultural Diversity and Career Development at UAB.
Denise Cone is the Director of Human resources for the Children’s Aid Society. She is a leader in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church and provides important contacts for Urban Ministry with the United Methodist Church. She is a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and is Chairperson of the Program Committee.
Clarice Davis was elected to the board in 2011. She worked as a resource officer and public health nurse for the Jefferson County Health Department in the West End community for more than 20 years. She is retired and actively involved in community health outreach work.
Janet Hall O’Neil was elected to the board in 2010. She co-anchors Fox 6 Evening News. Janet has served on a variety of non-profit boards and charitable organizations. She is a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Charlie Hayes is a retired attorney. He was a founding member of the board in 1976. He provides legal guidance and oversight to the board and serves as a member of the Finance Committee.
Mary A. Jones is the Community Service Coordinator for Greater Birmingham Ministries. She participates in the Birmingham City Schools sixth grade mentoring program and is a board member of YouthServe. She serves as Chairperson of the Personnel Committee.
Kathy McMullen is Associate Director and Staff Associate for Development at Greater Birmingham Ministries, a Board Member for Equality Alabama, a graduate of Leadership Vestavia Hills Class of 2005, and a member of First United Methodist Church Birmingham, Arise Citizens Policy Project, and CROP Hunger Walk planning committee. She serves on the Development Committee.
Ken (K.C.) Nolen is the President of Process Equipment, Inc. He is a member of the Program Committee and assists with fundraising efforts.
Kevin Owens is a new member of the board and works for the City of Birmingham in the office of Mayor Bell. He serves on the Program Committee and is the Junior Board liason.
Lois Truss was elected to the board in 2011. She is a long-time volunteer with Urban Ministry's Urban Kids program. She is an artist and a member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church.
Sheila Tyson is the President of the West End Community of Birmingham and the Arlington/West End Neighborhood Association. Ms. Tyson is our primary contact in the neighborhood where we carry out a significant part of our work. She works at Motion Industries and serves on the Finance Committee.
Becky Walker is a non-practicing attorney who is an active community volunteer. She is a member of our Development Committee, Bluff Park United Methodist Church, the Hoover Belle Committee, and the Birmingham Concert Chorale.
